Flying Squirrel Pizza Co. opened its doors for business on Friday October 24th, 2008. This is a true neighborhood “joint,” which the chef/owner remodeled himself (and the help of some great friends and family) to ensure that his casual yet funky vision would be achieved.
Flying Squirrel Pizza serves amazing pizzas using the freshest, highest quality, organic when possible, local ingredients, including meats from Zoe’s Meats, Salumi Artisan Cured Meats, locally farmed vegetables when available, coffee from Stumptown Coffee Roasters, and ice cream from Molly Moon’s Ice Cream in Wallingford. The dough and sauce are made fresh on a daily basis. The pork and chicken sausage are also made in-house…the pork made with hormone-free pork raised in Idaho, the chicken
hormone-free from Draper Farms in Mount Vernon, WA.
Each of our pizzas is hand tossed to order, and each carries it’s own uniqueness. For example, your pizza might not be perfectly round…and that’s good!
Handmade food shouldn’t always look factory perfect…that’s the love you see, instead.
We take a lot of pride in the food we are serving you. We want you to love what you’re eating and feel good about it. Because of that, there are a few pizzas we have to keep as is…we love to give you the option of ordering ½ and ½ pizzas, and building your own…but the pizzas with no red sauce: #5, #6, #8, and others simply can’t be ordered ½ and ½. Sorry! Those pizzas are crafted to give off a wonderful aroma when placed in front of you…a complete taste sensation, and need to be enjoyed on their own. We appreciate your understanding in this.
Also, for your kids safety and the safety of the FSPC staff, please keep your kids in their seats while dining. Our fantastic serving team are constantly carrying around armfuls of really hot pizza, or coffee, or glasses to tables and we would hate to have an accidental collision and get hot pizza all over someone. Thanks again for your understanding!
Here’s a little bit more about our great local food friends who help craft your Flying Squirrel Pizza experience:
Zoe’s Meats
In February of 2007, George Gavros and Charlie Hertz realized their dream by creating Zoe's Meats. Zoe's Meats are abundantly flavorful, superior quality cured-meat products, but what we seek to deliver is much more than that. Our vision is to provide our families and yours better food options through an environmentally and community friendly company.
Salumi Artisan Cured Meats
Started by Armandina Batali, and now run by Daughter Gina Batali and her husband Brian, Salumi is now a Seattle cured meat landmark. Their mission is to provide customers with unique artisan cured meats that are full of flavor and that challenge your traditional view of Salami and cured meats. Their products are hand made from the freshest products produced here in the Pacific Northwest and created from recipes based on Italian tradition yet refreshed with innovation and uniqueness.
Stumptown Coffee
Stumptown Coffee Roasters is dedicated to providing the freshest, most unique coffees in the world, roasted by hand in small batches. Believing in the social, environmental, and economic benefits of sustainable business leads Stupmtown to not only support coffee farms that are committed to the well being of their workers, land, and water, it also compels us to be a sustainable business in our own community.
Molly Moon’s Ice Cream
Molly Moon's ice cream, made from local and organic ingredients, is the kind of sweet, creamy satisfaction that one craves whether they're two or eighty two. From Skagit Valley's strawberries to Sequim's and Vashon Island's lavender, Molly Moon's is committed to using the best ingredients the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
Enjoy your pizza! Thanks for coming in!
Love, FSPC
